No airbrushing required.
Why?
Because I love my body. 100% natural. No fillers, slimmers, shapers or spanx -ers. :)

"Oh no she didn't! Did she just say she loves her over 300lb, size 26/28 body?!" Yes, I did. And I am on a mission to inspire every woman reading this to embrace their bodies too!

Maybe it was turning 30. Maybe it was giving birth to a child. Maybe it was starting SKORCH Magazine and joining the body loving movement, but whatever it was, I can honestly say I love every inch. My husband thinks I'm perfect. My son thinks I'm perfect, and those are the only opinions I care about.

The decision to post pictures of myself in a bathing suit WITHOUT airbrushing was a very easy one. In fact, even as a magazine publisher and photographer, I NEVER allow body airbrushing because I feel it's important to show a real person. Part of the reason women are so hard on themselves is because every image we see in media is perfect, 100%. You need to know these images are not real, they are art.  While I love and appreciate art, I am not a statue or painting, I am of flesh and blood.

I want you to be empowered by your REAL body and be the best version of YOU! I know I'm not fit, and yes I need to get more healthy, but I will NOT spend my life hating my body and punishing myself for not looking like a magazine cover!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) wfew. That felt good.

So embrace it, love it, you only have one. Your body is perfect.

Outfit Deets: Both suits gifted by www.swimsuitsforall.com! Here's my NON-compensated real review: I have to say that both of these suits were well built and comfortable. I always have trouble with the leg holes since I have large thighs, but these suits were cut beautifully for me. I love both and I NEVER would have gone for the skirt suit before, but I have to admit, it was so comfortable I wanted to wear it around the house all day long!! LOL

  1. I just want to say you are truly an inspiration and a force of positivity that I think everyone needs..but I know I need it right now in my life more than ever. I just turned 30 and I am trying my darnedest to change the way I view my body. I am so sick of hating my body. I am working hard to try to change the way I think. I have friends and family and a husband who loves me just the way I am.
You are beautiful and you help me see that I am beautiful too. So thank you. :-)

  3. I bought that same swim suit online for a girlfriend and she loved it. It's really flattering. You look beautiful Jess, inspiration to many. Full figured women are the majority but there is sometime so much hate and many of us forget we are just as beautiful and sexy as the next woman. Keep up the good work.

  5. Wow! You are hot! I started reading your blog because, out of all the blogging fatshionistas I've found, you have the most similar body size and shape to me (except I'm not quite as well-endowed in the chestage area). So I can really relate to your experiences. Unfortunately here in Australia the clothing choices are either non-fashionable and middle-aged, or (more recently) slutty prom princess. Niether of which are quite me!
    Keep on blogging!
    xx Katie.

  14. I really enjoy your words of encouragement. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Certainly we should be proud of ourselves. Who's to judge? You go girl. I am starting an online blog for plus size women and I would enjoy getting some comments from you to put on my site.

  15. I'm so glad I found your blog. I am a similar size to you (312, 5'6", 22/24 mostly, some 26s)... And I get really frustrated being onthe larger side of plus size. Whenever you see plus size people they are always around 18/20 and just make me feel like a giant. I love seeing your pictures because I feel like you actually represent me... And while I still want to lose weight for health reasons, I m finally starting to feel comfortable in my own skin. I'm working to lose maybe 15-25lbs before my husband and I TTC for our first baby... This is huge for me because I was originally driving myself crazy thinking I needed to lose 60-100lbs before we tried. It was depressing... But after doing some research I realized this is not an impossible dream where I am right now. Thank you for all you do.
