Work has been busy busy! And, I wouldn't have it any other way, unfortunately that means probably 200 facebook emails I need to reply to and comments to thank for, so if you are one of people waiting for a reply from yours truly, please know I'm working on it!

So, what kind of work do I do that keeps me so busy? Well, I get to organize and host awesome fun events like Sassy Sunday at Aloft. As the Marketing Manager, it's my job to create the event, get people involved, make everyone super happy and get a LOT of people in the door.

Thankfully, some of the most beautiful faces that come in the door are my closest friends and supporters, way back from my Skorch days! I really have the best friends ever, and seriously stylin' too! They definitely put me to shame, since that day I was organizing two huge events for work and this was the last event of the day, my hair was a MESS and my "over thing" wasn't working, I wasn't happy, but it could have been worse, right? *laughing*

Nice days in Portland are rare in January, so when the rain went away, I needed a lunch date downtown. My favorite part of Portland is the Pioneer Square area, it's where the new H&M is, the fancy stores like Coach and Prada, and the fancy shops with items I'll surely never buy - but love to look at.

This day, we sat by the fire at Macaroni Grill, broke wine and bread, and then the guy sitting next to us gave us free lunch vouchers to some fancy restaurant down the street? Funny how you meet you new people...LOL.

I'm sure you've seen this outfit before, but it's my favorite workday outfit since it's so comfy AND to dress code...you know that strict dress code I talked about.

I am definitely obsessed with scarves. I started out by getting every basic color, of course Target is my go-to with the great prices and quality. Then, I ventured out of my monochromatic box and started to get prints and stripes. And, then, Christmas happened and my MOST amazing work secret santa I have EVER had gifted me my new favorite obsession in a beautiful Nordstrom box, the black foil scarf.

Although, this scarf obsession is a catch 22 when you have a large chest like I do, the scarf doesn't lay flat, like my smaller chested beauties, so you constantly grapple with do I look way bigger? Does it look okay? Should I not wrap around my neck, and just let hang down? But everyone else wears it wrapped around the neck....Maybe the chest looking bigger isn't so bad? LOL...geez. I've been so round and round that finally I have decided, I don't give a shit. *oops! sorry!* But, it's so true. I'm so OVER over-anaylizing how something makes me look one way or another. So, my precious scarves and I will be together forrreevverrrrrr.

I love this flashback - 2008 I think! My friends and I were headed to a girlfriend's birthday party, a WIGn out party. LOL. Thankfully my friend Britney (in the hat) is a wig collector! I snagged the blue cleopatra inspired one and honestly, loved it!

So we were headed to the party, and stopped by a boutique opening where only my most favorite photographer was snappin' shots, ms. adrian adel and my model friend sara was modeling for the boutique (far right):). So, we of course took some quick shots!

There's NOTHING better about blogging than getting to try on amazing clothes that normally you're not able to. There are fantastic plus size options all over the internet, but so many big girls are too scared to buy online due to sizing/fitting, and I AM one of those girls. I mean how many times at an actual store do we haul in with 20 items, only to purchase 2??!! However, there are a few online stores I've shopped at a few times so I know their sizing, and in turn that lowers the return rate. Plus, you MUST know your measurements!

My favorite online stores are: Oldnavy.com (Womens), SizeAppeal.com, Torrid.com, ShopTranslated.com, Avenue.com (and Jessica London), LaneBryant.com.

Recently, I wore the most beautiful silky top I've ever worn. If you know me at all, you know I'm pretty monochromatic and VERY rarely sport prints, but this top was a show-stopper, and I think every single person I walked by at work complimented me....either because of the top, or the fact I wore something not solid?? LOL Either way, I was impressed by the quality of the top, stitching, etc, and the best part? No static cling?!!! Since the top is mostly Poly, I figured I was in for a kling-on war! :) But, no static. And, this top is a wrap top, so it's one big piece you wrap around you, and tie. Again, like most top, the silky bow would normally always un-knot, but this stayed tightly knotted all day, even after sitting and standing all day at work. A+ to shop translated for figuring that one out!

Love it or hate it, your hair is your #1 accessory (well besides confidence)...
If you have hair that is hard to manage, thick and curly, etc etc...i feel ya girl! I do as well.
I have thick curly, frizzy, not cute unless I torture it hair, and I get asked a lot, how do I do my hair, so I setup the camera and remote and walah, we have a picture hair montage! :)

Now, before you reach for the lotions, potions, serums and sprays, know that I have tried them ALL. And, my gospel of hair therapy is very simple: shampoo, light conditioner, light hairspray after styled and that's it. The more junk you put in your hair, the more flat it will be....at least for me. And, don't be afraid to beat your hair to death for 410 degrees of heat! :)

How I did it....

1. Wash hair, light towel dry, and then some air dry.
2. Blow dry completely dry.
3. Blow dry bangs forward - especially to control cowlicks.
4. Straigten hair from bottom to top - use a hair clip to hold up hair.
5. For thick curly hair, you'll need a flat iron that goes to at least 410 degrees.
6. Straigten bangs...fluff hair.
7. Trim bangs if needed.
8. Tease back crown of hair, then sides
9. Using brush, lightly brush over tease to smooth out.
10. Pull up hair to pin, secure with bobby pins. 2 per side.
11. Spray a finishing spray over entire hair. Smooth using hands over head to lightly smooth fly-a-ways.

What you'll need:
Flat Iron - I use a SEDU $120
Finishing Spray - I use Paul Mitchell Extra-Body Finishing Spray
Round Brush
Fine Tooth Comb
Hair cutting scissors
Bobby Pins
Hair Clip.
